Daniel Whiston is one of the UK’s leading, professional ice dancers, known to millions for winning ITV television’s Dancing On Ice a record three times!
Gold Medalist
Having competed nationally and internationally he is a multi gold medal award winner, achieving his first major title at the age of nine, making him the youngest person ever to win the Robin Cousins Trophy of Excellence award.
Passionate Skater
Skating was Dan’s passion from as young as six years old until turning professional at the age of 18. Having trained in drama and dance he has been featured on pop videos, films and commercials and theatre productions. Dan has performed in many lavish productions including the Hot Ice Show, Holiday On Ice, Disney On Ice and Strictly Come Ice Dancing. He has also appeared in pantomime as Dandini alongside Bradley Walsh and Dan played The Story Teller in Peterborough and Hanely for Paul Hammond.
Natural Presenter
Alongside his ice dancing career, Daniel has also done a significant amount of presenting work, appearing on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ and co-presenting on ‘The British Soap Awards’ and on ‘Dancing on Ice Extra. He has also guest presented on Radio Aire and on Radio Wave and he devised and appeared in Gaynor Faye’s best selling fitness DVD ‘Fit Friends.’
Perfect Sixes ITV’s Dancing On Ice
He became known to the masses when he was personally invited to join ITV’s Dancing On Ice team by Olympic winners Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean. Since then, Dan has appeared in every series since 2006 and won the Dancing on Ice title a record three times. The first time was with actress Gaynor Faye, then with Hayley Tamaddon, with whom he made history by being the first to receive the perfect score from all judges for their performance of Jai Ho, before going on to win the title. Dan then partnered Jennifer Ellison in 2012 and reached the semi-finals of the show and in 2013 he won the title for the third time with Olympic Bronze medal winner, gymnast Beth Tweddle. Dan also performed on the Dancing On Ice Tours.
He starred in the final series returning to the Champion of Champions Show with celebrity partner and Coronation Street actress Hayley Tamaddon where they were runners up to winner Ray Quin and Maria Filippov.
Dan assisted choreographer Kim Gavin for the Olympic Ceremonies for the off ice skating and he danced alongside Coldplay on special off ice skates.

2010 brought one of the major highlights of Dan Whiston’s career when he was invited to perform his unique silks and skating act at The Royal Variety Show. As well as ice dancing, Dan can use specially designed off-ice skates that enable him to skate on any dry, non-ice surface and this was the performance that the audience enjoyed seeing at The Royal Variety Show as he blended beautiful, aerial skills with skating on a normal stage surface
Versatile
Dan is available for hosting corporate workshops, TV and radio presenting, for commercial endorsements, as a choreographer, artistic director and professional on or off ice skater. Dan regularly performs at events on his own and with his celebrity friends, Haley Tamaddon and Karen Barber.
